1095 Hand Forged Hunting Knife

This is a good, serviceable, attractive knife. Because it is 1095 steel, which is good knife steel, not an exotic crucible steel, it is affordable. The blade looks good, it is sharp, and the finish is pretty good. The finish on the handle is not perfect but it is 98% perfect. I am satisfied and have no complaints with the knife. I am more picky with sheaths, because it is so hard to find a good sheath. This sheath is not full grain leather but it seems to be stitched and assembled well. It has a safety strap, which I find worse than useless because you have to move it out of the way to return the knife to the sheath, which makes sheathing the knife a two-hand job. I have never had a knife as big as this one fall out of sheath. I do not like safety straps. I would cut it off but the snap button would still be on the front of the sheath.
